Walt Disney Animation France

Walt Disney Animation France was an animation studio located in Montreuil, Seine-Saint-Denis, France that worked on both feature length Disney films and television series. The facility was originally founded by twin animators Paul and Gaëtan Brizzi as the Brizzi Studio, which was purchased by The Walt Disney Company in September 1989.

After work on several Disney TV shows and the feature DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990) for Walt Disney Television Animation, the French studio was absorbed into Walt Disney Animation Studios and began work on A Goofy Movie (1995). The French studio then began work on feature productions such as The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), and Tarzan (1999). The Brizzis also conceived and directed The Firebird Suite sequence in Fantasia 2000 (1999).

After working with the main Disney Feature Animation studio on The Emperor's New Groove (2000), Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), and Treasure Planet (2002), Disney closed the French studio in 2002 while massively restructuring its Feature Animation division.
